One bright day had brought me to this ultimate second-generation Sunny in Datsun family, which is specifically called Datsun Sunny KB210. The liftback form is really eye-catcher, in which also aids the aerodynamics of this chassis for the sake of speed. One cannot deny that it is one of awesome engineering creation in late 70’s, and you won’t get bored watching it all day long. For your information, the KB210 can only be found in handful units in Malaysia, and this is the only one in Oil Town, Miri. Do not ask me whether the owner intended to sell this beauty or not, because I strongly believe that you can only buy it in your dream.

SPOTTED: A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY

EVENT: A GREAT WEEKEND IN PUTRAJAYA PART 1
Posted on 06:23 by Unknown
In Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, the last weekend of May is about Millions of Youth Gathering, and most importantly for me, they organized a classic car show and invited Royal Selangor Club members to cheer up the moment with their precious rides. This time, lets approach things a little differently with more classics from west side, starting with this solid red MGB Roadster convertible.
But that doesn’t mean that every car was from western side. Some came from the land of JDM. Next to the MG was this striking yellow Civic CRX on stock OEM wheels.
Things became more serious with this super clean Mercedes Benz vintage, looking good on white wall.
Just around the corner, I was amazed with this unique Alfa Romeo…
...and more importantly, it is the original Alfetta GTV version. A very handful unit in Malaysia.
All types of the breed could be seen, including second-generation type cars like this Jaguar MKII.
And the event would not be a success without some Japanese classics…
...so one of Royal Selangor Club member brought his 510 Bluebird to impress JDM lovers.
One of my favorite vintage on that day, this Amazon 123GT was so attractive that I can’t resist falling in love with.
Hunting for hot babes anyone? This BMW 635C SI is a good weapon.
More French goodies on that day with this Peugeot 404. It may looked average from this view…
…but those pointing and sharp curves turned it into something.
If I am not mistaken, this was the car model that the Allahyarham P. Ramlee drove in ‘Madu Tiga’ movie, the Triumph Spitfire.
And this unknown vintage (apology for my ignorance) , but the design is pretty unique with the taillight at the same level to the wheel.
I don’t think this beauty needs a caption, and it is your lucky day to find a stock condition 280ZX…
...which it looks like just stepped out of dealership in 1980’s. You envy Fairlady enthusiasts?
Another pristine condition marque by Ford, meet this Escort MKI 4 door sedan.
With shiny and sparkling color, I just admired how they managed to keep their car up to this condition.
The icon of the world, and you are not living on earth if you do not know this bug.
Amazingly, this Beetle was restored with original Volkswagen parts. I believe the owner is a VW purist.
Undeniably yes, and it’s the matter of right foot…
The cutest little thing ever produced, this Mini looked business in brownish-purple color.
One of my findings from the event and looks like someone drove over this vintage Fiat 1100 from 1960’s. Another time machine? Ask the owner perhaps.
Along with much more from this amazing event in Part 2. Stay tuned.

GATHERING: RANDOM SNAP AT MAYDAY THIRD ANNUAL MEET
Posted on 00:25 by Unknown
This is the continuation of the previous coverage, the Mayday Third Annual Meet 2012. More number of cars and two-wheelers, but the number of drivers remains the same. That means? I leave the question for you to make a quick guess.
I just cannot help myself to start falling in love with third-generation Corolla, especially when they are equipped with full TE37 goodies...
...and a set of charming SSR Longchamp XR-4.
The long disappearing B10 2 door sedan, back in action for this special event. Everyone is going to love the headrest-less seat and flare-rubbing stance on deep wide AP Racing...
...and a brat concept Suzuki GS550 with a retro helmet, under transformation into a menacing ride.
If you guys wondering, the event took place at Luak Esplanade in Miri. A good spot to gather with your friends and enjoy watching cool rides (and hot girls to be honest).
Close look at the KE30, more shakotan gem with an oil cooler.
In front of the KE30 was this Marol's KE70 which just became a meaner machine with fabulous Enkei Apache all around.
A moment later, Romy showed up and he did not fails to impress everyone with his freshly customized Honda CB360.
Last but not least, class album anyone? In this picture were the great guys who made the event success on that day. Keep it up guys, you are awesome!

GATHERING: MAYDAY THIRD ANNUAL MEET
Posted on 20:33 by Unknown
While some of people from West Malaysia were busy catching sideways action of Formula Drift Malaysia 2012 at Speed City KL, the OCCC members could not missed up to have the same 'havoc' in Borneo. This event was actually held to celebrate third anniversary of the club, kinda surprised to know the truth that two sweet years had passed, with the increasing number of members and rides.
The guy of the pro photoshoot's ride, Asrol Ardi with his stunning KE70 coupe, next to infamous Mazli's Mango Sprinter.
Take a closer look at these two beauties, both coupe on nice offset wheels, tidy and attracting paint-job. If I weren't into KE25/TE27s, I am definitely will have a hard time to choose one of these rides.
Romy never fails to impress everyone with his JDM TA22 Celica, powered by 16-valves 4A-GE.
A good example of a properly done restoration job on first-generation Celica coupe, spotted a freshly installed ducktail spoiler to aid the traction.
Next to this TA22 was Kamarulzaman's Corolla DX, striking on 2K orange paint-job. Notice an uncle behind there with his clean stock C31 Laurel.
The car that makes everyone envy (especially me), all the time...
...and these two, for sure.
I'll be back with a lot more from Asrol Ardi's lens very soon!

SPOTTED: FABULOUS STEELIES
Posted on 11:36 by Unknown
Just another B210 in town? Wait, its got deep offset OEM steelies and I have to admit that Datsun designers did a great job in styling the shape of this car, which is so muscular looking. Looks like the owner enjoyed his weekend by rolling around in his Datsun.

LINK: 0-4FACTORY 510 DRAGSTER
Posted on 11:40 by Unknown
I came across this monster project on 510 Coupe chassis, which was totally built up from the ground and reinforced with spaceframe chassis to break the quarter mile record. Start drooling here.

FEATURE: MR. J'S FAST DATSUN

As fast as a bullet, that’s how you describe this 1976 Datsun B110. During high school, I was informed there is an old car which was able to outrun most of fast cars in Miri. That time, I was really tempted to find out which car was that and how fast it could be.

Fate brought me to the owner and his car. The chance to know Mr. Johnny Voon was a great experience that I could never forget in my life. He did inspires me about motorsport scene, the oldskool potentials in drag arena and the never-ending automotive spirit. A very enthusiastic guy who is not reluctant to share his knowledge in cars.
Talking about fast oldskools, there is no compromise on finishing and exteriors. Mr. Johnny is a chrome parts fanatic, so he tried his best to complete the chromes on his B110 and keeps them shining as stars.
Without GT wing and twin pipe exhaust, you won’t expect this B110 to be a 10 second car. It might looks like an ordinary Datsun which is driven around by ah pek to buy market goods. Somehow, the GT wing looks fine on this B110, besides keeping sufficient aerodynamics to aid the traction on drag track.
Yes, we are talking about infamous 4A-GE bolt-on T04E Ball Bearing turbo. The displacement was increased via 5A series block for extra reliability, to withstand the huge power. Cams were replaced with Twin Cam HKS 290 series 8.35" lift. Other performance parts were also installed to increase the horsies such as custom banana manifold, Twin blow-off valves, and HKS waste gate.
The interior is still practical and comfortable to be a daily ride, with proper door trims and seats. Monri gauges were installed to provide engine condition readings. Notice the cut-off switches to prevent excessive damage on the engine during emergency.

Once you had the engine loaded with full of performance parts, a factory stock 4A-GE ECU wont be able to handle the complicated job, thanks to the MicroTech MT-8. A reliable source reveals that this setup is able to produce around 450hp, and I heard the owner swapped to Haltech ECU now.
Drivetrain was heavily modded with custom traction bar for better rigidity, to withstand huge rotational power from the engine. Rear gear box AE86 full time LSD 4.3 gear ratio is trusted to do the job.

A true legend with potential, 10 seconds run is now possible and had won over several heavily modded super cars. Kudo’s to Mr. Johnny Voon!
