Great month of events all around the country. Here is a sampling of some that caught my eye:
Speed! - Through September 16
An interesting tip provided by mySTi666, a Reddit reader who reports, "The fine arts museum in Salt Lake City has an exhibit called Speed, featuring some of the most iconic race cars in history. It ends Sept. 16th, so if you get a chance I highly recommend going! Here is the 1952 "Beast III" streamliner from the exhibit." The "Speed!" exhibit is being shown at the Utah Museum of Fine Art. This visitor reports that there are 4-5 salt flat racing cars there as part of this unique display. If you've never been to a museum, it can be a fun day if it has cars!
Hot Rod Drag Week 2012 - Week of September 9-14
Yes, Hot Rod Magazine's great event begins and ends this week at the Tulsa Raceway Park. This is a 1200 mile road trip with 5 drag races in five days along the way. Every car must complete both the road trip and the track! With stops in Texas, Louisiana and Tennesse, it wraps up this Friday with the final drag races in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is a must-see if you like drag racing and old muscle! Here's the schedule:
