Classic Car Rentals Available in Texas

For those who have always wondered what it's like to own their own classic car, muscle car, street rod, vintage truck or even an old antique car, there are some companies out there that have some available as rentals. Although not very common, and certainly not cheap, it can be a fun experience for a special event in your life. And, it's a great way to experience the thrill of driving an oldie.

Since Motorheads Performance is a repair and restoration shop that specializes in cars and trucks from the 1920's through 1970's, Guy Algar and I went on a quest to find companies in Texas that have these types of vintage rides available. Many offer other types of exotic cars in addition to rentals of the American classic cars.  Here's what we found:

Auto Exotic Rental  http://www.autoexoticrental.com/showroom.php  Available in Houston • Dallas • Austin • San Antonio with Viper SRT10, Corvette C06 and Camaro 2 SS cars available under Sports cars. Rates are from $299 per day, to more cost effective 3-day and weekly rentals.

Luxury Car Rentals  http://www.wexoticcars.com/showroom.php  Available in Houston • Dallas • Austin • San Antonio with an assortment of mainly European cars. I did see a Continental GTC convertible in the bunch.

Find Exotic - Your Guide to Luxury and Exotic Rental  http://www.findexotic.com/c/1012_RentClassicCars.htm  Available in several Texas cities including Houston • Dallas • Austin • San Antonio, this company has some great oldies available such as the Ford Thunderbird convertible at $199/day or $1199/week, a 1964 Cadillac DeVille Convertible, 1967 Pontiac Lemans Convertible, 1958 Ford Fairlane, 1949 Ford F100 Desoto Rod, or a 1966 Ford Mustang!


Lost in the 50's Limo

For those who aren't looking for a true rental, and opt for a limo style service, here's some Texas companies which provide great cars for short-term use. Great for weddings, corporate events, reunions and other events, having a classic car for your limo rental can be a fun night out.

This company provides limousines in Austin.Proms, weddings, corporate events, etc. Rockin' Ride is rented for fun in the 1970's style of garish decor; crushed velvet and shag rug interior! Their "party bus” comes with multiple TVs, sound system and even karaoke so you don't have to leave to party.

A fleet of genuine antique luxury cars for people in the Austin area. 1937 Cadillac, 1963 Bentley, 1967 Rolls Royce. Rates are $125 per hour with a two hour minimum Monday through Friday. Saturday is $150 per hour with a two hour minimum.

Lost in the 50's Limos  http://www.50slimos.com/services  This Dallas/Ft Worth area limousine rental company has a cool 50's style stretch limo which will take you to Scotty's Diner in Fort Worth for a fun, nostalgic night out!  $125 per hour, with packages for other events.
